What happened to Spongebob? Why are the new episodes so terrible?

There's something different about the newer episodes, I just can't place my finger on it. Obviously, his voice. But why do they suck so badly now? Did they get new writers or something? The older episodes were so much funnier and more creative. Does anyone else know what I mean?
