Fiction book recommendations?

I'm looking for essentially a modern day Hardy Boy book (mystery/murder type) but something with more complicated reading (i'm at a college age reading level) and with a story that i can't figure out in .08 seconds like i have with every other book i've read thus far. but my parents are a little strict about no language/no sexual content, etc. recommendations please?
