Is it okay if I delete the contents of my %temp% folder?

It is just a catch all folder that stores unsaved data. You can delete it, but you might want to keep a copy for a little bit. Some of your Games, Word setting and other things are in there. You could look around and delete only the things that are obviously junk and/or you will never need them.
